We knew there was something special about Elena and Kevin right from the get-go; their playful and
kind nature made working with them a dream! Elena came to us with an amazing vision for her
wedding day and we are so thankful that we were able to bring it to life.
Nestled inside the hustle and bustle of DC, St Francis Hall is a charming wedding venue. Surrounded
by Franciscan monasteries and hidden gardens, it provides a quiet and relaxing retreat.
Along with St Francis’ stunning architectural facets, Elena and Kevin brought character to
their wedding design by including an array of lush textures, fresh and bold florals,
and classic but striking attire.
Although Washington DC is now their home, they both were brought to DC for school. Kevin and Elena first met in Georgetown while Elena
was studying at George Washington University and Kevin was interning on Capitol Hill. Four years later, Kevin surprised Elena
with a proposal at the National Christmas Tree, followed by dinner at the very restaurant where they first met.
Almost all of Kevin and Elena’s friends and family traveled to be a part of their wedding day;
including their wedding party and officiants! Many came in from Elena’s home state of New Jersey
and Kevin’s home state of South Carolina; their wedding guests were a fun mix of
people who really knew how to celebrate!
The rain held off just long enough for their garden ceremony and outdoor cocktail hour, both followed
by an ambient indoor reception. The newlyweds and their guests enjoyed multiple entrée stations,
a dessert and coffee bar; which offered cake and cookies, including heirloom cookies
that were a family recipe of Elena’s, as well as a late night snack of miniature
fried chicken and waffle bites.
After dinner, they danced for hours alongside their vibrant and upbeat live band, ‘Round Midnight;
The newlyweds surprised everyone by getting on stage and signing Old Crow Medicine Show’s “Wagon Wheel” with the band.
Elena and Kevin exited their reception through a shower of festive metallic streamers.
We loved being a part of their incredibly fun wedding!
